Air & Odor Control
Slaughterhouses release harmful substances in the atmosphere. These include odor from animal receiving area and wastewater treatment facility as well as harmful refrigerants such as chlorofluorocarbons (CFCs) and hydro chlorofluorocarbons (HCFCs),  used in refrigeration and cold storages.

Harmful gases are generated from the burning of fuels, delivery vehicles, and methane gas from waste treatment. Odor control is a significant issue if the meat establishment is near the residential communities while the generation of greenhouse gases is now a worldwide concern so relevant air emission measures and odor management should be taken to prevent it.
